Dr. Richard Kleinmann, President
Richard Kleinmann was born in New York City. He graduated from Hicksville High School in 1970 and the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in 1974 with a degree in economics, summa cum laude. He graduated from Columbia Law School in 1977 and has worked in maritime and corporate law. Richard became interested in switching to medicine and took the necessary pre-med courses at night while he continued working as a lawyer during the day. He attended a 5 year medical school program for professionals transitioning into medicine from other professions and graduated from New Jersey Medical School, UMDNJ in 1998 and went on to complete a five year residency at Robert Wood Johnson/UMDNJ in Piscataway. He completed training as a psychiatrist in June 2003 and has a private practice in Highland Park and works part-time for Hoboken University Medical Center. Richard is married with 5 children.
Leya Strauss, Executive Vice President
Leya Strauss has been with Prudential Financial for over 20 years in various leadership roles. She is currently Vice President of Process Management for Prudential Investment Management (PIM) and Retirement Services. In this role, Leya is the lead Project Manager responsible for the execution and oversight of PIM and Retirement's strategic business initiatives. Prior to this role, she served as the Vice President, Head of Finance and Assistant Treasurer at Jennison Associates, a wholly owned subsidiary of Prudential Financial.
Leya has served on the Young Israel of East Brunswick Board of Directors as Finance Secretary and as Corresponding Secretary on the Sisterhood Board of the Young Israel.
Leya earned a B.A. in Applied Mathematics from Barnard College at Columbia University and an M.B.A from Stern School of Business at New York University.
Binyamin Goldstein, Treasurer
Benyamin Goldstein is Director of Taxes and Associate General Tax Counsel for Honeywell Automation and Control Solutions (ACS). Honeywell is a Fortune 100 company with $31 Billion in sales and 122,000 employees in 120 countries. In his role, Ben leads the ACS tax organization and has responsibility for ACS global tax matters. Ben is a member of Honeywell's Tax Leadership Council.
Ben holds an undergraduate degree in accounting from Yeshiva University and both a JD and LL.M in taxation from New York University School of Law. Ben is admitted to the bar in New York and New Jersey and is a Certified Public Accountant. Prior to joining Honeywell, Ben was Tax Director for AT&T and Tax Manager for PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Ben and his wife Aliza reside in Highland Park, NJ and have 4 children - Avigail, a current sophomore at MAYHS, Nate, Efraim, and Chavi. Ben is active in Congregation Ohr Torah, having been a past financial officer, and in the Cowboy Fund, an organization which funds innovations in pediatric cancer research.
Eileen Felder, Secretary
Eileen Felder has been involved with MAYHS for 7 years, as a parent and as the girls’ gym teacher. She graduated from NYU with a Bachelor degree in Recreational Sports Management and from Queens College with a Master degree in Exercise Physiology. Eileen currently is employed by the Rabbi Pesach Raymon Yeshiva as the Supervisor of the Early Childhood Program at their East Brunswick campus. Over the years, Eileen has been involved at various levels in the Young Israel of East Brunswick (YIEB). Her community involvement includes youth chair for the Sisterhood, shul board member and Director of the synagogue day camp. Most recently, Eileen worked on YIEB’s Rabbinic Search Committee.
